Australian social entrepreneur, photographer and researcher Michael Chew is running photo-voice workshops with youth as part of the ‘Climate Resilience Media Exchange’ (CRME) project. CRME uses participatory photography to document, share, and disseminate emerging grassroots responses to climate and environmental impacts across urban youth in Bangladesh, China and Australia. Through the workshops youth produce photo-stories exploring what climate resilience and environmental protection mean within their community.

Photographs
The photographs should be visually engaging in showing the theme. They may include direct documentation of activities, or indirect creative approaches at representing of these activities, literally or metaphorically.
Text Description
The photographs need to be accompanied by brief text description. This is an opportunity to share your ideas behind the photographs, rather than simply describing what is going on in the image. The text should be engaging and easy to understand. Think about who’s ‘voice’ you would like to speak from – first, second or third person… or something else entirely? We welcome personal connections and stories.
